Washington Wetlands

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 2 Year: 2021 - 2022

During our visit to Washington Wetlands, we explored the woodland searching for mini beasts. When we found one we used a magnifying glass to look closer at how many legs it had. We found out that minibeasts with no legs are more likely to be herbivores and the ones with legs are likely to be carnivores.

After that we went pond dipping where we used a net to catch creatures whose habitat is in the water – we chose our favourites and then looked at them using an underwater camera on the big television screen.

We also went to the watch tower and looked for lots of different types of birds. Some were really colourful!
