School Meals

We pride ourselves on our school meals and are fortunate to have an experienced cook and caring team of kitchen assistants.

Our meals are cooked on the premesis and we ensure our meals are healthy, fresh and tasty. We offer a daily salad bar, fresh fruit and a cold packed lunch option. The menus are on a 4 week cycle to ensure children have variety. Children are encouraged to eat a balanced meal and try new foods. We provide vegatarian/vegan food and can cater for special diets. Special diets must be arranged through the school office.

Each term we have special themed days that all children, including those who have a packed lunch, are welcome to have.

Meal Manager – Parent Pay

We ask that all parents log into their ParentPay account and pre order their childs school meals for the week ahead and pay. Meals are £2.30 per day. This will ensure that all children will receive their preferred meal choice and parents can see what their child is having for lunch each day. Meals can be pre-booked in advance. When selecting school meals on parent pay, the home packed lunch option is only for children who bring packed lunch full time (Years 3-6).

If you have any questions, please contact the school office on 0191 5634200. Please note that your log in details for ParentPay will be issued on the day your child starts school.

Universal Free School Meals

In September 2014 the government introduced universal free school meals for all children in reception, Y1 and Y2. All of our children in these year groups stay for a school lunch. Only in exceptional circumstances, agreed by school, do our younger children bring a packed lunch. When children are on a school trip school provides a packed lunch for children in Reception, Year 1, 2 and other children who usually have a school lunch.

We ask all children starting our school to complete a free school meal application as part of our induction process.

Free School Meals

Your child (Years 3-6) can have free school meals if you receive Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Child Tax Credit if your income is no more than £16,190 (and you do not get Working Tax Credit), or if you receive Support under part Vl of the Immigration and Asylum Act.

Please check with the school office if you are unsure. The link below will take you to the City of Sunderland Link.
