Welcome to Hetton Lyons Primary School, our school website aims to give you an insight into our wonderful school community, where children and families are at the heart of everything we do.

I warmly welcome you to Hetton Lyons Primary School. I am very proud to be part of this vibrant, happy and caring school where children are firmly at the heart of everything we do.

Our school is a fantastic place to learn, play and work and at the centre of a very supportive community. Although we appreciate that our core purpose is to enable every child to make academic progress throughout their time at Hetton Lyons Primary, we see the wider development of each individual as being equally important.

The curriculum here is bright, lively and creative and we are commited to developing learning with connected threads as part of our broad and balanced offer.  We believe in giving children a hands-on approach to learning, letting them experiment and experience activities which will inspire them to find out more.

As staff, we get to know each pupil, and work to meet their needs to the very best of our ability. We have high expectations for all the children and we value every one of them as a unique part of our community.  We aim to foster a lifelong love of learning and believe that our children deserve the very best as they start their learning journey with us, and we work in partnership with parents, carers and members of our local communities to achieve that goal.  An important part of our ethos is to value the partnership we have with parents, as we know that working closely together helps your child to benefit fully from school.
