Welcome to Year 5 with Miss Colling and Mrs Etherington

Welcome to Year 5! Here you will find useful information about the Year 5 routine, as well as a glimpse into the exciting learning that takes place throughout the year.

Reading bags should be brought into school EVERY DAY with reading records, AR reading book, library book and spelling books.

Homework will be given on a Friday and should be returned to school by the following Wednesday. This will consist of  a weekly maths activity in their maths workbook; as well as spellings and reading throughout the week.

PE kits should be worn on your child’s PE days. PE Kit is white t-shirt, navy blue or black tracksuit bottoms (no logos) and school jumper or plain hoodie. PE days for 5C are Tuesday and Thursday. PE days for 5E are Tuesday and Wednesday.

We are proud of the creative work we have already completed this year. We designed and made our own rainforest stuffed animals, carefully planning our ideas and choosing suitable materials. We learned how to use blanket stitch to join the pieces together, developing our sewing skills and perseverance. This project helped us combine creativity with practical skills, and we are very pleased with the finshed results. Take a look at some pictures of our finished pieces!
