Our Den
Introducing the Den
We are delighted to announce the opening of the Den, our new alternative resource provision, which welcomed its first pupils in September. This fantastic project has been made possible through a collaboration between Balmoral Learning Trust, Together for Children, and Sunderland City Council.
A huge thank you goes to McAvoy, who expertly managed and delivered the project, building the new modular classroom. We are also very grateful to our Trsut Estate Manager, staff, and pupils at Hetton Lyons, who coped so well with the build taking place during school time, and to our parents for their continued support throughout the construction.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide support not only for the children of Hetton Lyons but also for children across the City of Sunderland.
What our community is saying:
One pupil said, “I really like the Den because it feels like my own special space where I can learn and play in different ways.”
Our CEO commented, “The Den represents a wonderful opportunity for children to thrive in a supportive and engaging environment. We are proud of what has been achieved through this partnership, and the positive impact it will have across Sunderland.”
