World Book Day 2021

Date: 5th Mar 2021 @ 10:33am

Although we weren’t all in school, we still celebrated one of our favourite days of the school year, World Book Day. Children were able to come to school dressed in either pyjamas or in costume. Those children working from home were also asked to join in with the celebrations.

In Literacy, all children joined their lesson with their favourite book wrapped up. They then had to give clues about their book and others had to guess before we revealed them. We were all brilliant book detectives and were able to guess most texts.

We had fun taking part in quizzes, listening to World Book Day songs and we also listened to David Walliams read, ‘Code name Bananas’ and ‘Fing’. It was amazing! After listening to David Walliams, some of our children were inspired to become authors in the future.

All children had the opportunity to develop their art skills (graffiti art and drawing a figure in motion) when they were asked to draw their main character and the title of their book. We decorated our classroom door. Please take a look.
