My name is Rebecca Pharoah and I am the new Family Support Worker here at Hetton Lyons and I am really looking forward to meeting you.
My main role is to support you and your family. So if you're having some difficulties getting your child
to school on time, if you're struggling to know how to support your child with their behaviour or you need somebody to talk to in confidence then give me a call on 0191 5634200 or e mail me at Rebecca.Pharoah@balmorallearningtrust.co.uk.
I am not social services but I can signpost you to the necessary support you need and will support you throughout the process.
I will be holding coffee mornings and drop in sessions so you can get to know me. I will be in school usually Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday and I will be on the gate at the start and end of each day.
I have worked with Children, Young People and their families for over 15
years. I initially volunteered with the local Youth Offending team as a
Panel Member whilst I was at College studying for my A levels. I then
went on to University to complete a degree in Criminology. My first role
after University was as a Young Person's Advisor helping Young people
with a variety of issues from careers to Mental/Emotional Health. I then
spent 10 years working for a Young People's Service, Educating young
people and their families on the Risks of Using Drugs and Alcohol. I
have worked in both Primary and Secondary School since then working
as a Family Support Worker supporting Children and Families.
